Niassa Overview

Niassa is one of Mozambique’s most remote provinces, with a population of 1.2 million, and the country’s most sparsely populated. Many communities in northern Mozambique are poorly connected to the rest of the country, including those in Niassa, where roads in rural communities may only be accessible by 4-wheel drive vehicles for much of the year.
